Musnad Ahmad 32:1587

Mu'ammal narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Thabit narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik, that the Jews entered upon the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "As-sam (death) be upon you." The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "And upon you." Aisha said: "Death be upon you, O brothers of monkeys and swine, and the curse of Allah and His wrath." He said: "O Aisha, desist." She said: "O Messenger of Allah, did you not hear what they said?" He said: "Did you not hear what I replied to them? O Aisha, gentleness does not enter into anything except that it adorns it, and it is not removed from anything except that it disgraces it."
