Musnad Ahmad 32:1630

'Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, he said: Thabit narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik: That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gave Abu Sufyan, 'Uyaynah, al-Aqra', and Suhayl ibn 'Amr, among others, on the day of Hunayn. The Ansar said: "O Messenger of Allah, our swords are dripping with their blood, yet they go away with the spoils." This reached the Prophet (ﷺ), so he gathered them in a tent of his until it was overflowing. He said: "Is there anyone among you who is not of you?" They said: "No, except for the son of our sister." He said: "The son of a people's sister is one of them." Then he said: "Did you say such and such?" They said: "Yes." He said: "You are the inner garment (shi'ar), and the people are the outer garment (dithar). Are you not pleased that the people go away with sheep and camels, while you go away with the Messenger of Allah to your homes?" They said: "Yes." He said: "The Ansar are my inner circle and my trusted confidants. If the people were to travel through a valley, and the Ansar were to travel through a mountain pass, I would travel through their mountain pass. And were it not for the Hijrah, I would have been a man from the Ansar." Hammad said: He gave one hundred camels, naming each one of these men.
