Musnad Ahmad 32:1652

'Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas, that a man said: "O Muhammad, O best of us and son of the best of us, and O our master and son of our master." He said: "Say what you have to say, and do not let the devil—or the devils, one of the two words—mislead you. I am Muhammad, the servant of Allah and His Messenger. I do not like for you to raise me above the status that Allah has assigned to me."
