Hadith 32:1722

Rawh narrated to us, Sa’id narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Anas ibn Malik, that they asked the Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, one day until they exhausted him with questioning. So he went out one day and ascended the pulpit and said: "Do not ask me about anything today except that I will inform you of it." The companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, feared that something might be at hand. He said: I began not to turn to the right or to the left except that I found every man wrapping his head in his garment, weeping. Then a man who used to be disputed regarding his lineage, and who would be attributed to someone other than his father, stood up and said: "O Prophet of Allah, who is my father?" He said: "Your father is Hudhafah." He said: Then Umar stood up—or he said: Then Umar began—and said: "We are pleased with Allah as Lord, with Islam as a religion, and with Muhammad as a Messenger. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of tribulations." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "I have never seen the like of today in terms of good and evil. Paradise and Hell were depicted before me until I saw them behind this wall."
