Hadith 32:1923
'Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Thabit narrated to us, from Anas, that the people said: "O Messenger of Allah, the wealth has perished, and we have suffered a drought. O Messenger of Allah, the wealth has perished, so pray for rain for us." So he stood on the day of Friday while he was on the pulpit and prayed for rain—and Hammad described: he stretched out his hands level with his chest, with the palms of his hands facing toward the earth—and there was not a single cloud in the sky. He did not depart until the strong young man was concerned about his ability to return to his family. We continued to have rain until the following Friday. Then they said: "O Messenger of Allah, the buildings have collapsed, and the travelers are cut off, so pray to Allah to clear it away from us." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) laughed and said: "O Allah, around us and not upon us." It then cleared away until Medina was as if it were in a wreath.
