Musnad Ahmad 32:2052

Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Suhayb, from Anas ibn Malik, that a funeral procession passed by the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and they praised it with good. He said: "It has become incumbent, it has become incumbent." Then another funeral procession passed by, and they praised it with evil. He said: "It has become incumbent, it has become incumbent." 'Umar said: "O Messenger of Allah, your first statement: 'It has become incumbent,' and your other statement: 'It has become incumbent'?" He said: "As for the first, they praised it with good, so I said: 'Paradise has become incumbent for him.' And as for the other, they praised it with evil, so I said: 'The Fire has become incumbent for him.' And you are the witnesses of Allah upon His earth."
