Musnad Ahmad 32:2097

'Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, he said: Thabit and Abu 'Imran al-Jawni informed us, from Anas ibn Malik, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Four will be brought out of the Fire" — Abu 'Imran said: "Four," [while] Thabit said: "Two men" — "and they will be presented to Allah. Then it will be commanded that they be taken to the Fire. He said: "Then one of them will turn back and say: 'O my Lord, I was hoping, when You brought me out of it, that You would not return me to it.' So Allah will save him from it."
