Musnad Ahmad 32:2123

'Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, he said: Thabit informed us, from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered upon a man from his companions to visit him, and he had become like a fledgling bird. He said to him: "Did you ask Allah for anything?" He said: I said: O Allah, whatever You were going to punish me with in the Hereafter, then hasten it for me in the world. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him: "You do not have the strength for the punishment of Allah. Why did you not say: 'O Allah, give us in this world good, and in the Hereafter good, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire'?"
