Musnad Ahmad 32:213

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Ibn Abi 'Arubah narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who said: "The believers will gather on the Day of Resurrection and will be inspired to do so. They will say: 'If only we sought intercession with our Lord, so that He might relieve us from this place of ours.' So they will come to Adam and say: 'O Adam, you are the father of mankind. Allah created you with His hand, caused His angels to prostrate to you, and taught you the names of everything. Intercede for us with your Lord, that He may relieve us from this place of ours.' Adam will say to them: 'I am not for that,' and he will mention the sin he committed, and he will feel shy before his Lord. He will say: 'But go to Nuh (Noah), for he is the first messenger whom Allah sent to the people of the earth.' So they will come to Nuh, and he will say: 'I am not for that,' and he will mention to them his mistake of asking his Lord for that which he had no knowledge of, and he will feel shy before his Lord because of that. 'But go to Ibrahim (Abraham), the Khalil (Friend) of the Most Merciful.' They will come to him, and he will say: 'I am not for that, but go to Musa (Moses), a servant whom Allah spoke to and gave the Torah.' So they will come to Musa, and he will say: 'I am not for that,' and he will mention to them the soul he killed without a soul (in retaliation), and he will feel shy before his Lord because of that. 'But go to 'Isa (Jesus), the servant of Allah and His messenger, and His word and His spirit.' They will come to 'Isa, and he will say: 'I am not for that, but go to Muhammad, a servant whose past and future sins Allah has forgiven.' So they will come to me." Al-Hasan said this part: "I will stand and walk between two rows of believers - Anas said - until I seek permission from my Lord, and permission will be granted to me. When I see my Lord, I will fall or prostrate to my Lord, and He will leave me for as long as Allah wills to leave me." He said: "Then it will be said: 'Rise, Muhammad. Speak, you will be heard; ask, you will be given; intercede, you will be granted intercession.' I will raise my head and praise Him with a praise He will teach me. Then I will intercede, and He will set a limit for me, and I will admit them into Paradise. Then I will return to Him a second time. When I see my Lord, I will fall or prostrate to my Lord, and He will leave me for as long as Allah wills to leave me. Then it will be said: 'Rise, Muhammad. Speak, you will be heard; ask, you will be given; intercede, you will be granted intercession.' I will raise my head and praise Him with a praise He will teach me. Then I will intercede, and He will set a limit for me, and I will admit them into Paradise. Then I will return to Him a third time. When I see my Lord, I will fall or prostrate to my Lord, and He will leave me for as long as Allah wills to leave me. Then it will be said: 'Rise, Muhammad. Speak, you will be heard; ask, you will be given; intercede, you will be granted intercession.' I will raise my head and praise Him with a praise He will teach me. Then I will intercede, and He will set a limit for me, and I will admit them into Paradise. Then I will return a fourth time and say: 'O Lord, none remain except those whom the Quran has detained.'" Anas ibn Malik narrated to us that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Then there will be brought out of the Fire whoever said: 'La ilaha illa Allah' (There is no god but Allah), and had in his heart of goodness the weight of a barleycorn. Then there will be brought out of the Fire whoever said: 'La ilaha illa Allah', and had in his heart of goodness the weight of a wheat grain. Then there will be brought out of the Fire whoever said: 'La ilaha illa Allah', and had in his heart of goodness the weight of an atom."
