Musnad Ahmad 32:2142

Bahz and ‘Affan narrated to us, they said: Hammam narrated to us. ‘Affan said in his narration: Qatadah informed us, he said: Anas ibn Malik narrated to us. And Bahz said: From Anas ibn Malik: "A group from ‘Uraynah came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: 'We have found the climate of Medina unsuitable, so our bellies have become swollen and our limbs have become emaciated.' The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, ordered them to go to the camel herder and drink from their milk and their urine." He said: "So they went to the camel herder and drank from their milk and their urine until their bellies and their complexions became healthy. Then they killed the herder and drove away the camels. This reached the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, so he sent in pursuit of them. They were brought, and he cut off their hands and their feet, and branded their eyes." Qatadah said, from Muhammad ibn Sirin: "This was only before the *hudud* (prescribed punishments) were revealed."
