'Affan narrated to us, Sulayman ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, Thabit narrated to us, from Anas, who said: A son of Abu Talhah from Umm Sulaym died. She said to her family: "Do not tell Abu Talhah about his son until I am the one who tells him." He mentioned the meaning of the hadith of Bahz, except that he said: My mother said: "O Anas, do not feed him anything until you take him to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." He said: So he spent the night crying, and I spent the night leaning over him, watching him until morning came. Then I took him to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he had a branding iron with him. When he saw the boy with me, he said: "Perhaps Umm Sulaym has given birth?" I said: "Yes." So he put the branding iron down from his hand and sat.
