Musnad Ahmad 32:242

Waki’ narrated to us, Shu’bah narrated to us, from Hisham ibn Zayd, who said: I heard Anas ibn Malik saying: We startled a hare at Marr al-Zahran. He said: The young boys ran after it until they became exhausted. He said: So I caught it, and I brought it to Abu Talhah, and he slaughtered it. Then he sent me with its haunch to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he accepted it.
