Musnad Ahmad 32:256

Ibn Idris narrated to us, he said: I heard Al-Mukhtar ibn Fulful say: I asked Anas ibn Malik about drinking from vessels. He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade the *muzaffat* (pitch-coated vessels), and he said: "Every intoxicant is unlawful."
