Musnad Ahmad 32:275

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Humayd informed us, from Anas, that a man used to write for the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and he had read [the surahs of] Al-Baqarah and Al-Imran. And when a man would read Al-Baqarah and Al-Imran, he would become great among us—meaning he would be held in high esteem. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, would dictate to him "Ghafuran Rahima" (Forgiving, Merciful), and he would write "Aliman Hakima" (All-Knowing, All-Wise). The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, would say to him, "Write such and such; write as you wish." And he would dictate to him "Aliman Hakima," and he would say, "Shall I write 'Sami'an Basira' (All-Hearing, All-Seeing)?" He would say, "Write as you wish." That man apostatized from Islam and joined the polytheists. He said, "I know Muhammad better than you; I used to write whatever I wished." Then that man died. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, "Indeed, the earth did not accept him." Anas said: Abu Talha told me that he went to the land where that man died and found him cast out. Abu Talha said, "What is the matter with this man?" They said, "We have buried him repeatedly, but the earth would not accept him."
