Musnad Ahmad 32:309

Abu al-Mughirah narrated to us, Safwan narrated to us, from Shurayh ibn Ubayd al-Hadrami, that he heard al-Zubayr ibn al-Walid narrating from Abdullah ibn Umar ibn al-Khattab, who said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would go on a military expedition or travel, and night would overtake him, he would say: "O earth, my Lord and your Lord is Allah. I seek refuge in Allah from your evil, and the evil of what He created in you, and the evil of what is in you, and the evil of what crawls upon you. I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of the inhabitant of the land, and from the evil of a father and what he begot, and from the evil of a lion and a black snake, and a viper and a scorpion."
