Musnad Ahmad 32:314

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas: "Eighty men from the people of Makkah descended upon the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, from the mountain of al-Tan'im, armed, intending to catch the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and his companions off guard. He captured them peacefully, and he spared them." Then Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed: {And it is He who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them within [the area of] Makkah after He caused you to overcome them} [Al-Fath: 24].
