Musnad Ahmad 32:385

Mu'adh ibn Hisham al-Dastawa'i narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to me, from Yunus, from Qatadah, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: "The Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, never ate upon a *khwan* (dining table), nor from a *sukrujah* (small bowl/saucer), nor was *muraqqaq* (thin/refined) bread ever baked for him." I said to Qatadah: "Upon what, then, did they eat?" He said: "Upon the *sufrah* (leather dining mat)."
