Musnad Ahmad 32:403

'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Mansur, from Talhah ibn Musarrif, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: "The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, would see a date, and were it not that he feared it might be from the charity (sadaqah), he would have eaten it."
