'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah, from Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah said: 'O son of Adam, if you remember Me within yourself, I will remember you within Myself; and if you remember Me in a gathering, I will remember you in a gathering of the angels, or in a gathering better than them. If you draw near to Me by a span, I will draw near to you by a cubit; and if you draw near to Me by a cubit, I will draw near to you by an arm's span; and if you come to Me walking, I will come to you running.'" Qatadah said: "And Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is swifter with forgiveness."
