Musnad Ahmad 32:549

Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, from Hisham, from Muhammad, from Anas—Hammad said: And al-Ja‘d also mentioned it—he said: Umm Sulaym took half a mudd of barley and ground it. Then she took a skin that had some ghee in it and made from it a khatifah (a type of porridge). He said: Then she sent me to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He said: I came to him while he was among his companions, and I said: "Umm Sulaym has sent me to you to invite you." He said: "Me and those who are with me?" He said: So he came, and those who were with him. He said: I entered and said to Abu Talhah: "The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, has come, and those who are with him." Abu Talhah went out and walked beside the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, it is only a khatifah that Umm Sulaym prepared from half a mudd of barley." He said: He entered and it was brought to him. He said: He placed his hand in it, then said: "Let ten enter." He said: So ten entered and ate until they were full. Then ten entered and ate, then ten entered and ate, then ten entered and ate, until forty men had eaten from it, all of them eating until they were full. He said: And it remained as it was. He said: Then we ate.
