'Arim narrated to us, Mu'tamir ibn Sulayman al-Taymi narrated to us, he said: I heard my father say: al-Sumayt al-Sadusi narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: We conquered Makkah, then we went on an expedition to Hunayn. The polytheists came with the best ranks I have seen—or he said: I saw—so the cavalry lined up, then the fighters lined up, then the women lined up behind that, then the sheep lined up, then the camels lined up. He said: We were a large group of people, having reached six thousand, and Khalid ibn al-Walid was over the flank of our cavalry. He said: Our horses began to take refuge behind our backs. He said: We did not wait long before our cavalry was broken, and the Bedouins and those of the people whom you know fled. He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, called out: "O Emigrants! O Emigrants!" Then he said: "O Helpers! O Helpers!" Anas said: This is the hadith of 'Amiyah. He said: We said: "At your service, O Messenger of Allah." He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, advanced. He said: By Allah, we did not reach them until Allah defeated them. He said: So we seized that wealth. He said: Then we set off to al-Ta'if and besieged them for forty nights, then we returned to Makkah. He said: We descended, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, began giving a man one hundred, and giving a man one hundred. He said: The Helpers spoke among themselves: "As for those who fought with him, he gives them, and as for those who did not fight with him, he does not give them." He said: The talk was raised to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Then he ordered the leaders of the Emigrants and the Helpers to enter upon him. Then he said: "Let no one enter upon me except a Helper or the Helpers." He said: So we entered the tent until we filled the tent. The Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "O assembly of the Helpers—or as he said:—what is this talk that has reached me?" They said: "What has reached you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "What is this talk that has reached me?" They said: "What has reached you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Are you not pleased that the people go away with the wealth, and you go away with the Messenger of Allah to take him into your homes?" They said: "We are pleased, O Messenger of Allah." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "If the people took a mountain pass, and the Helpers took a mountain pass, I would take the mountain pass of the Helpers." They said: "We are pleased, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Then be pleased," or as he said.
