Hadith 32:668
Husayn ibn Muhammad and ‘Affan narrated to us, they said: Khalaf ibn Khalifah narrated to us, he said: Hafs ibn ‘Umar narrated to us, from Anas, who said: I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) in the circle, and a man was standing praying. When he bowed and prostrated, he sat and recited the tashahhud, then he supplicated, saying: "O Allah, I ask You by the fact that to You belongs all praise, there is no god but You, the Bestower of favors, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, Possessor of Majesty and Honor, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, I ask You." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Do you know with what he supplicated?" They said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, he has supplicated to Allah by His Greatest Name, which, if He is called upon by it, He answers, and if He is asked by it, He gives." ‘Affan said: "He supplicated by His Name."
