Musnad Ahmad 32:725

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Anas, that a group from 'Ukl and 'Uraynah spoke of Islam, and they came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. They informed him that they were people of livestock and were not people of the countryside, and they complained of the fever of Medina. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, ordered for them a herd of camels, and ordered a shepherd for them, and ordered them to go out from Medina so that they might drink from their milk and their urine. They departed and were in the direction of the Harrah, then they disbelieved after their Islam, and they killed the shepherd of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and drove away the herd. That reached the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, so he sent those in pursuit after them. They were brought, so he branded their eyes, and cut off their hands and their feet, and they were left in the direction of the Harrah biting its stones until they died. Qatadah said: "And it reached us that this verse was revealed concerning them: 'Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger...' [Al-Ma'idah: 33]."
