Musnad Ahmad 32:753

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, he said: Ma'mar informed us, from al-Zuhri, he said: Anas ibn Malik informed me that some people from the Ansar said on the day of Hunayn, when Allah bestowed upon His Messenger the wealth of Hawazin, and the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) began giving men from Quraysh one hundred camels each: "May Allah forgive the Messenger of Allah; he gives to Quraysh and leaves us, while our swords are still dripping with their blood." Anas said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was informed of what they said, so he sent for the Ansar and gathered them in a tent made of leather, and he did not invite anyone else with them. When they had gathered, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) came to them and said: "What is this talk that has reached me concerning you?" The Ansar replied: "As for those of us with sound judgment, they said nothing; but some people who are young in age said such and such," referring to what they had said. The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "I give to men who are newly converted to Islam in order to reconcile their hearts—or he said: to win them over. Are you not pleased that the people go away with the wealth, while you return with the Messenger of Allah to your dwellings? By Allah, what you return with is better than what they return with." They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah, we are pleased." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) then said to them: "You will surely see after me intense favoritism, so be patient until you meet Allah and His Messenger, for I am your forerunner at the Basin." Anas said: "But we did not remain patient."
