Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, 'Asim al-Ahwal narrated to us, from Anas, who said: I asked him about the Qunut: is it before the bowing or after the bowing? He said: Before the bowing. He said: I said: But they claim that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, performed Qunut after the bowing. He said: They lied. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, only performed Qunut for a month, supplicating against people who had killed some of his companions who were called "the reciters."
