Ibn Numayr narrated to us, Muhammad—meaning Ibn Abi Isma'il—narrated to us, from 'Umarah ibn 'Asim, who said: I entered upon Anas ibn Malik in Kufa, and I asked him about *nabidh* (fermented drink). He said: "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade the *duba'* (gourd) and the *muzaffat* (pitch-coated vessel)."
