Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Humayd, who said: I heard Anas ibn Malik say: A man called out to a man in the marketplace, saying: "O Abu al-Qasim!" The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, turned around. The man said: "I only called out to a man [other than you]." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Name yourselves with my name, but do not use my kunyah (patronymic)."
