Hadith 32:79
Ibn Abi ‘Adi narrated to us, from Humayd, who said: Anas was asked: "Did the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, raise his hands?" He said: It was said to him on a Friday: "O Messenger of Allah, the rain has ceased, the land has become barren, and the wealth has perished." He said: So he raised his hands until I saw the whiteness of his armpits, and he sought rain. He raised his hands while not a single cloud was seen in the sky. We had not yet finished the prayer when the young man who lived nearby was concerned about returning to his family. He said: Then, when the following Friday came, they said: "O Messenger of Allah, the houses have collapsed and the travelers are detained." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, smiled at the quick weariness of the son of Adam and said: "O Allah, around us and not upon us." So it cleared away from Medina.
