Mu'ammal narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Thabit informed us, from Anas, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to his companions: "Ask me." A man stood up and said: "O Messenger of Allah, who is my father?" He said: "Your father is Hudhafah" — referring to the one he was attributed to. His mother said to him: "O my son, you have stood before your mother in a great position." He said: "I wanted to clear my chest of what was being said," and it was indeed being said about him.
