Waki' narrated to us, Hammad bin Salamah narrated to us, from Ali bin Zaid bin Jud'an, from Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "On the night I was taken on the Night Journey (Isra), I passed by a people whose lips were being cut with scissors of fire. I said: 'Who are these?' He said: 'These are the preachers from the people of the world who used to command people to righteousness while forgetting themselves, even though they recited the Book. Do they not then use their reason?'"
