Hadith 912:1
Waki’ narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, from Sa’id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, who said: Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "Ali is the best of us in judgment, and Ubayy is the best of us in recitation, and we indeed leave much of Ubayy’s dialect." And Ubayy says: "I heard [it] from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, so I will not leave it for anything, and Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, says: 'Whatever verse We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring one better than it or similar to it' [Al-Baqarah: 106]."
حدثنا وكيع، حدثنا سفيان، عن حبيب بن أبي ثابت، عن سعيد بن جبير، عن ابن عباس، قال: قال عمر رضي الله عنه: "علي أقضانا، وأبي أقرؤنا، وإنا لندع كثيرا من لحن أبي " وأبي، يقول: "سمعت من رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فلا أدعه لشيء، والله تبارك وتعالى يقول: {ما ننسخ من آية أو ننسها نأت بخير منها أو مثلها} [البقرة: 106] " . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
