Hadith 623:2
'Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ghanam, from 'Amr ibn Kharijah, who said: I was holding the rein of the she-camel of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and it was chewing its cud, and its saliva was flowing between my shoulders. He said: "Indeed, Allah has given every person who has a right his right. There is no bequest for an heir. The child belongs to the bed, and for the adulterer is the stone. Whoever claims to be the son of someone other than his father, or claims to belong to someone other than his masters, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all of mankind." 'Affan said: Hammam added in it with this chain of narration—and he did not mention 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ghanam—: "And I was beneath the throat of his riding beast." And he added in it: "Neither a ransom nor a compensatory payment will be accepted from him." And in the hadith of Hammam, it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) delivered a sermon and said: "Turning away from them."
