Musnad Ahmad 1118:22

'Ali ibn Bahr narrated to us, al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us, he said: al-Awza'i narrated to us, from Isma'il ibn 'Ubayd Allah ibn Abi al-Muhajir, from Maysarah, the freed slave of Fadalah, from Fadalah ibn 'Ubayd, from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who said: "Allah is more attentive to a man with a beautiful voice reciting the Qur'an than a master of a singing girl is to his singing girl."
