Hadith 1118:4

Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Muqri narrated to us, Haywah narrated to us, he said: Abu Hani Humayd ibn Hani informed me, from Amr ibn Malik al-Janbi, he narrated to us that he heard Fadalah ibn Ubayd, a companion of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, heard a man supplicating in prayer, and he did not mention Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and he did not invoke blessings upon the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "This one has been hasty." Then he called him and said to him and to others: "When one of you prays, let him begin with the praise of his Lord and the exaltation of Him, then let him invoke blessings upon the Prophet, then let him supplicate after that with whatever he wishes."
