Musnad Ahmad 348:1

Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, he said: Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, from Abd al-Hamid ibn Sayfi, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: Suhaib came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and there were dates and bread before him. He said: "Draw near and eat." He said: So he began to eat from the dates. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to him: "There is an inflammation in your eye." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, I am only eating from the other side." He said: So the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, smiled.
