Musnad Ahmad 926:8

Abdullah narrated to us, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to me, Ibn Numayr narrated to us, Yazid ibn Ziyad ibn Abi al-Ja'd narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Umayr, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, who said: Two men boasted of their lineage during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. One of them said: "I am so-and-so, son of so-and-so, son of so-and-so. So who are you, may you have no mother?" The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Two men boasted of their lineage during the time of Musa, peace be upon him. One of them said: 'I am so-and-so, son of so-and-so,' until he counted nine. 'So who are you, may you have no mother?' The other said: 'I am so-and-so, son of so-and-so, son of Islam.'" He said: "Then Allah revealed to Musa, peace be upon him: 'As for these two who boasted of their lineage, as for you, O you who boasted of nine in the Fire, you are the tenth of them. And as for you, O you who boasted of two in Paradise, you are the third of them in Paradise.'"
