Musnad Ahmad 431:2

Uthman ibn Umar narrated to us, he said: Usamah ibn Zayd narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, that he heard Abd al-Rahman ibn Azhar saying: I saw the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) during the expedition of the Conquest, and I was a young boy, moving between the people, asking about the dwelling of Khalid ibn al-Walid. Then a drunkard was brought, and he commanded them, so they struck him with what was in their hands. Among them were those who struck him with a stick, and among them were those who struck him with a whip, and the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) threw dust upon him.
