Musnad Ahmad 764:2

'Uthman ibn 'Umar narrated to us, Usamah ibn Zayd narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, that he heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Azhar say: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) during the expedition of the Conquest, and I was a young boy, moving between the people, asking about the dwelling of Khalid ibn al-Walid. Then a drunkard was brought to him, so he gave an order regarding him. They struck him with what was in their hands; among them were those who struck him with their sandals, those who struck him with a stick, and those who struck him with a whip. And the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) threw dust upon him."
