Hadith 769:23
Hushaym narrated to us, al-Shaybani informed us, from Muhammad ibn Abi al-Mujalid, who said: The people of the mosque sent me to Ibn Abi Awfa to ask him: What did the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, do regarding the food of Khaybar? I came to him and asked him about that. He said—and I said: "Did he take the fifth (khums) of it?" He said: "No, it was less than that." He said: "And one of us, when he wanted something from it, would take his need from it."
حدثنا هشيم، أخبرنا الشيباني، عن محمد بن أبي المجالد قال: بعثني أهل المسجد إلى ابن أبي أوفى، أسأله: ما صنع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في طعام خيبر؟ فأتيته فسألته عن ذلك، قال: وقلت: هل خمسه؟ قال: " لا، كان أقل من ذلك " قال: " وكان أحدنا إذا أراد منه شيئا أخذ منه حاجته "
