Hadith 769:33
Hisham ibn ‘Abd al-Malik narrated to us, ‘Ubayd Allah ibn Iyad ibn Laqit narrated to us, Iyad narrated to us, from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sa‘id, from ‘Abd Allah ibn Abi Awfa, who said: A man came while we were in the row behind the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and he entered the row and said: "Allah is the Greatest, [much] greater, and glory be to Allah, morning and evening." He said: The Muslims raised their heads and disapproved of the man, and they said: "Who is it that raises his voice above the voice of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)?" When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) finished [the prayer], he said: "Who is this loud-voiced person?" It was said: "It is that one, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "By Allah, I saw your words ascending into the sky until a door was opened, and they entered through it."
