Musnad Ahmad 147:1

Hashim narrated to us, Al-Layth narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn ‘Ajlan, from a freed slave of ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amir ibn Rabi‘ah al-‘Adawi, from ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amir, that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to us in our house while I was a young boy. He said: So I went to go out to play, and my mother said: "O ‘Abdullah, come here, I will give you [something]." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "And what did you intend to give him?" She said: "I will give him a date." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) then said: "As for that, if you had not done so, a lie would have been recorded against you."
