Musnad Ahmad 430:19

Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, he said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Yunus, from al-Hasan, from Abdullah ibn Mughaffal, from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who said: "Indeed, Allah is Gentle; He loves gentleness and is pleased with it, and He gives for gentleness what He does not give for harshness."
