Hadith of Abdullah bin Mughaffal al-Muzani (RA) from the Prophet (SAW)

Hadith 430:20

'Affan narrated to us, he said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Yunus, from al-Hasan, from 'Abdullah ibn Mughaffal, that a man met a woman who had been a prostitute during the Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic period). He began to play with her until he reached out his hand toward her. The woman said: "Desist, for Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, has taken away the Shirk (polytheism)"—and 'Affan said once: "has taken away the Jahiliyyah"—"and has brought us Islam." The man turned away, and his face struck a wall, causing a wound. He then came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and informed him. He said: "You are a servant for whom Allah intends good. When Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, intends good for a servant, He hastens the punishment for his sin for him. And when He intends evil for a servant, He withholds [the punishment for] his sin from him until he is requited for it on the Day of Resurrection, as if he were a donkey."
