Musnad Ahmad 834:12

Isma'il narrated to us, Ayyub narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, that a relative of 'Abdullah ibn Mughaffal threw a pebble (using a slingshot), so he forbade him and said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade throwing pebbles." He said: "It does not hunt game, nor does it injure an enemy, but it breaks the tooth and gouges out the eye." He said: "Then he returned to doing it." So he said: "I told you that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade it, yet you returned to it; I will never speak to you again."
