Musnad Ahmad 1098:10

Ya'mar narrated to us, Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, al-Awza'i informed us, Yahya ibn Abi Kathir narrated to us, Hilal ibn Abi Maymunah narrated to me, that 'Ata' ibn Yasar narrated to him, that Abdullah ibn Salam narrated to him—or he said: Abu Salamah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to me, from Abdullah ibn Salam—he said: We discussed among ourselves and said: "Which of you will go to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and ask him: 'Which deeds are most beloved to Allah?'" We were afraid that one of us might stand up [to ask]. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, sent for us one by one until he gathered us, and we began to gesture to one another. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, recited to us: "Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth exalts Allah," until His saying: "It is most hateful in the sight of Allah" [As-Saff: 1-3]. He said: "He recited it from its beginning to its end." He said: "Ibn Salam recited it to us from its beginning to its end." He said: "'Ata' ibn Yasar recited it to us from its beginning to its end." Yahya said: "Hilal recited it to us from its beginning to its end." Al-Awza'i said: "Yahya recited it to us from its beginning to its end."
