Musnad Ahmad 920:2

Muhammad ibn Bishr al-‘Abdi narrated to us, Mis‘ar narrated to us, from Mus‘ab ibn Shaybah, from Abu Habib ibn Ya‘la ibn Munyah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: A man came to ‘Umar and said: "The hyena has eaten us." Mis‘ar said: meaning the year of drought. ‘Umar asked him: "From whom are you?" He continued to trace his lineage until he knew him, and he was a man of wealth. ‘Umar said: "If a man had a valley or two valleys, he would seek a third one for them." Ibn ‘Abbas said: "And nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dust, then Allah turns in forgiveness to whomsoever repents." ‘Umar said to Ibn ‘Abbas: "From whom did you hear this?" He said: "From my father." He said: "When it is morning, come to me." He said: So he returned to Umm al-Fadl and mentioned that to her. She said: "What do you have to do with speaking in the presence of ‘Umar?" Ibn ‘Abbas feared that his father might have forgotten. His mother said: "Perhaps your father has not forgotten." So he went to ‘Umar in the morning, and he had the whip with him. They both went to his father. His father came out to them having performed ablution, and he said: "I had madhy (pre-seminal fluid) discharge, so I washed my penis, or my private part"—Mis‘ar was uncertain. ‘Umar said: "Does that suffice?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Did you hear it from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him?" He said: "Yes." He said: And he asked him about what Ibn ‘Abbas had said, and he confirmed it for him.
