Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik and Affan narrated to us, they said: Abu Awanah narrated to us, from al-Aswad ibn Qays—Affan said in his narration: al-Aswad ibn Qays narrated to us—from Nabih, from Ibn Abbas, that Ubayy said to Umar: "O Commander of the Faithful, I received the Quran from the one who received it"—and Affan said: "from the one who receives it"—"from Gabriel, while it was fresh."
