Musnad Ahmad 775:5

Sufyan narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq al-Shaybani, who said: I heard Abdullah ibn Abi Awfa say: We were with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, on a journey. He said to a man: "Dismount and mix a drink for us." Sufyan said once: "Mix a drink for me." The man said: "O Messenger of Allah, the sun [is still up]." He said: "Dismount and mix a drink for us." And Sufyan said once: "Mix a drink for me." The man said: "O Messenger of Allah, the sun [is still up]." He said: "Dismount and mix a drink." So he mixed the drink, and he [the Prophet] drank. When the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, had drunk, he gestured with his hand toward the night: "When you see the night has approached from here, then the fasting person has broken his fast."
