Musnad Ahmad 295:1

Waki’ narrated to us, from Hisham, from his father, from Abdullah ibn Zam’ah, who said: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, mentioning women, and he exhorted regarding them. He said: "For what reason does one of you strike his wife, while he may perhaps lie with her at the end of the day, or at the end of the night?"
