Hadith of Abdur-Rahman ibn Khunbush (RA)
Hadith 80:1
Sayyar ibn Hatim Abu Salamah al-Anazi narrated to us, he said: Ja’far—meaning Ibn Sulayman—narrated to us, he said: Abu al-Tayyah narrated to us, he said: I said to Abd al-Rahman ibn Khunbush al-Tamimi, and he was old: "Did you reach the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace?" He said: "Yes." He said: I said: "How did the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, act on the night the devils plotted against him?" He said: "The devils descended that night upon the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, from the valleys and the mountain passes. Among them was a devil with a torch of fire in his hand, wanting to burn the face of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace with it. Then Gabriel descended to him and said: 'O Muhammad, say.' He said: 'What shall I say?' He said: 'Say: I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He created, and produced, and originated; and from the evil of what descends from the heaven, and from the evil of what ascends into it; and from the evil of the trials of the night and the day; and from the evil of every visitor, except a visitor who comes with good, O Most Merciful.'" He said: "So their fire was extinguished, and Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, defeated them."
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
